About me

Hello, my name is Charlie. I offer birth and postpartum support services and am currently working toward my full spectrum certification. I grew up in Saskatchewan in a big Ukrainian/Cree family, where there were always due dates approaching and baby showers to attend. The first birth I was a part of was my sister’s. I was only fifteen, and we love to joke that I was her “unofficial doula” because I went to Lamaze classes with her and stayed by her side throughout her entire labor. Almost two decades later, I witnessed my sister-in-law give birth, and everything came flooding back. I found myself rubbing her feet, keeping the room quiet and asking the nurses maybe a few too many questions.

I support birth in every shape and form, and believe any birthing person who is truly held, and is supported in a safe, nurturing environment can find empowerment in their birth.

Apart from those eye-opening experiences, I also grew up with 7 brothers and sisters, some of them I am 20 years their senior! There was an impactful time in my life where I spent time learning everything there was to know about infant and toddler care, everything from changing, to bottle feeding and soothing while taking care of my younger siblings. I would love to share my knowledge with you, and nurture you and your family! I would love to explore what that might look like for you, and where I can help to make your postpartum more comfortable without you feeling the pressure to be a super human.
