Birth Doula Services
Support that’s calm, confident, and cheerfully practical from pregnancy through postpartum.
What I do for you
Continuous labor support: I stay with you through labor, offering emotional reassurance, comfort measures (massage, counterpressure, positioning, movement, breath coaching), and encouragement so you feel stronger and more capable.
Evidence-informed guidance: I share research-backed information about labor progress, interventions, and comfort options to help you make clear, empowered decisions.
Personalized birth planning: We create a flexible birth plan that reflects your values, preferences, and priorities — what you want to invite and what you want to avoid.
Advocacy in the room: I help you communicate with your care team, translate medical information into plain language, and support your choices while honoring your care provider’s expertise.
Partner and family coaching: I coach partners and support people in practical ways so they can be confident helpers — from hand placement for counterpressure to phrasing questions for providers.
Postpartum transition support: Immediate postpartum presence to help with early breastfeeding/chestfeeding positioning, newborn care basics, and emotional support during those first crucial hours.
Referrals and resources: I connect you with childbirth education, lactation consultants, pelvic floor specialists, mental health support, and community resources tailored to your needs.
Practical details
On-call coverage usually begins around 38 weeks and continues until birth.
Backup doula included in case of overlap or emergency.
Ready to talk? I offer a free 20–30 minute consult to see if we’re a good fit, go over options, and answer your questions. If you’d like, we can schedule a meet-and-greet to start planning a supportive, joyful birth experience tailored to you.
